Integrated Components for Compact Transmission Systems
Worm spline shafts combine worm transmission and spline connection functions into one integrated shaft. This structure reduces the number of separate components and improves transmission rigidity. It is especially suitable for compact drive systems that require both torque transfer and accurate positioning.
These shafts are commonly used in robotics, automation equipment, precision reducers, and mechanical joint systems. Our machining capability covers worm outer diameters from Φ4mm to Φ180mm, with overall lengths ranging from 12mm to 700mm. This integrated design helps customers simplify assembly and optimize equipment space.
Accurate Alignment Between Worm and Spline Sections
The main challenge in manufacturing this type of shaft is maintaining the positional accuracy between the worm and spline sections. Any alignment deviation may affect torque transmission, positioning accuracy, and operating stability.
We achieve Grade 6 precision for both spline and worm sections in our standard high-precision range. For larger specifications, we support Grade 8 spline precision and Grade 7 worm precision. The spline section transfers torque efficiently, while the worm section provides speed reduction and motion control. Accurate relative positioning between these two functional areas ensures reliable system performance.

Advanced Multi-Process Machining Capability
Manufacturing a worm spline shaft requires precise control of multiple features on one workpiece. Our CNC turn-mill compound machines and Swiss-type automatic lathes complete multiple machining operations with high positioning accuracy.
We use optimized fixture designs to maintain the correct relationship between spline teeth and worm profiles during processing. Our production process includes first-article inspection, in-process measurement, and final quality verification.
We follow strict quality management procedures based on IATF16949 requirements. This helps ensure stable production quality for customers in automotive, robotics, and industrial automation industries.
Flexible Support from Prototype to Mass Production
We provide complete manufacturing support from initial design review to volume production. After receiving customer drawings or samples, our engineering team evaluates machining feasibility and provides production recommendations.
Prototype development usually takes 15 to 30 days. After sample approval, mass production can be arranged with typical lead times of 30 to 60 days. For repeat orders, retained process data helps shorten preparation time.
We also support flexible shipment schedules and batch delivery options. This allows customers to manage inventory more efficiently and maintain stable production plans.
